Sen. Snowe Wants Airport Security Chief Arrested
Bomi County Senator Edwin Snowe Jr, who doubles as a ranking member of Liberia’s delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament; is calling for the arrest and prosecution of— Mr. Samuel Freeman, the Director of Security who is being linked to the alleged smuggling of banned substances into the country via the Roberts International Airport.
In a Facebook post after the Airport Management suspended Freeman, Senator Snowe said Freeman should by now be dismissed, arrested and taken behind bars and investigated properly.
“Suspension my foot! The man should be dismissed and placed behind bars by now,” he said in his post.
Since the government confirmed that the substances brought into the country were banned substances, there have been mountain calls for the arrest of those accused of having involvement in the consignment.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice has mandated the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Liberia National Police and the National Security Agency to take possession of the matter and launch an impartial investigation into the matter.
The government has assured that those linked to the alleged importation of the drug into the country will be brought to book.
