Pres. Weah Nominates  Musa Dean As Associate Justice of the Supreme Court

Monrovia, Liberia – The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah has nominated Cllr. Frank Musa Dean as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
Dr. George Manneh Weah made the nomination on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. The nomination is subject to confirmation by the Honorable Liberian Senate.
Once Confirmed, Cllr. Dean will replace His Honor, Cllr. Joseph N. Nagbe who resigned due to medical reasons.
Who is MUsa Dean?

Cllr. Dean is one of Liberia’s learned legal practitioners the founder and managing director of the Dean & Associate Incorporated law, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean who is now been queued to serve as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia if conformed by the Liberian Senate has been the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Liberia since 2018.

“Counselor Dean” as he is affectionately called is one of Liberia’s respectable legal minds whose achievements and academic credentials are overwhelmingly admired by many Liberians and even those abroad as one of the most respected Liberian lawyers who has always stood his ground in the dispensation of his professional services to the most needy,

A product of some of the world’s renowned institutions including a US based Columbia University School of Law where he obtained his LL.M (Master of Laws in 1990 with concentration on international Business Law,   he also obtained from the Bailbrook College, Bath, England  where he obtained a Diploma in Telecommunications Management Studies in 1989.

In 1988 at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law University of Liberia, he obtained his LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws), also at the same University, the University of Liberia in 1985 he got his first B.A (Bachelor of Arts)  majoring Political Science (International Relations) and minoring Minor: Public Administration.

He also worked at the Sherman & Sherman Incorporated law office as Staff Counsel. At the University of Liberia’s Louis Arthur Grames School of Law also served as Assistant Professor of Law from February 1997 to December 2002, Served as Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General from July 1996 to February1997. From March 1995 to March 1996, Liberia’s Minister of designate served as Managing Director and Chief Executive officer with dedication at the Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LTC).

Prior to that from November 1991 to April 1991, he served as Deputy Managing Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LTC, and also served as the Corporation Legal Counsel from December 1988 to November 1991, and also served as Legal Research Officer at that entity from September 1987 t0 August 1988.

The learned Liberian legal practitioner is also a class room teacher, he taught at one of the leading junior and senior high school, the G.W. Gibson Junior and senior from March 1983 to December 1988.

Due to professionalism in the legal sector of Liberia, Cllr. Dean has been listed on the United States Embassy website as reference for lawyers in Liberia; his preferment and nomination by President George Weah as Liberia’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice has been welcomed by dozens of Liberians who spoke to the GNN-Liberia during the week.

     IMPORTANT DATES:

1988: Admitted to the Liberia National Bar and the practice of law before all courts in the Republic of Liberia, except the Supreme Court.

1992: Admitted to the Supreme Court Bar as Counsellor-At-Law and the practice of law before the Supreme Court of Liberia.

2008 :   Honorary Consul General of the Russian Federation.
