Who Using Voodoos On Boakai?
Some aggrieved supporters of Liberian President Joseph Boakai have expressed dismay over the refusal of the President to liaise with those who were heading his campaign.
The President has appointed several individuals to key positions, including the Ministry of Finance, the National Port Authority, commerce, National Investment Commission, and economic advisor, among others.
But the appointments have been met with some disquiet, especially from financiers of the Boakai 2023 presidential campaign.
Stanton Witherspoon, the major financier of the then candidate Boakai campaign, and other supporters have expressed dissatisfaction with what they say is the president’s refusal to appoint those who led his campaign.
Boakai’s refusal to align with the wishes of the financiers and key supporters led to dozens of aggrieved supporters storming the home of the new president, seeking answers as to why he has not appointed those who dedicated themselves to securing his presidency.
Speaking, some of the aggrieved supporters noted that the conduct of Boakai is unusual, accusing the president’s close associates of using voodoo to subject the president to their will.
“This is no longer normal, some of those around the president are using ritual to prevent him from paying attention to those who struggled to make him president,” Gayflor Koikoi, 36, a supporter of the president alleges.
Also speaking, William Kemba, said those around the president have created a shield, making it impossible to have access to the president.
“What happened to MacDella Cooper, Abel Plackie, Patrick Honna, Wilmont Paye, Robert Moncio Kpadeh? Are they not competent to hold positions in government? Are they only good to campaign while those who were against us take lucrative positions? This is not normal! Someone is using voodoo on our president,” he said during the interview.
For now, the party’s angry loyalists have vowed to organize a mass protest if the president does not address their demands.
